Start with the child restraint

Install and adjust the car seat according to its manual before adding the camera. Keep the camera, bracket, straps and cables away from the harness, belt path, lower anchors, tethers and any part that moves or locks. Never route a cable through the belt path.

Protect the driver's field of view

Place the display where it does not block the windshield, rear-view mirror, instruments, airbag deployment areas or vehicle controls. Use a brief glance at a time. If the child needs attention, stop safely rather than trying to solve the problem while driving.

Test before every new vehicle

When moving a camera between cars, recheck the headrest fit, cable path and display angle. Pull gently on the mount, power on the system and verify the image while parked. Loose accessories can become projectiles in a sudden stop.
